History of Majes Valley

This valley is known as one of the deepest valley in the world with a profundity of 3,200 meters. The Majes Valley is also known for its good agriculture productivity, beautiful landscapes, and archaeological remainders.  One of the most important Pre-Inca cultures habited this valley, the Wari culture. They left “petroglyphs”, carved rock with figurines and symbols that can be found throughout the valley. Likewise, human skeletal remains and tombs have also been found in which studies have been done to understand the health status and life ways of this valley's past inhabitants.

Later on, the Spaniards came to stay in this valley and they named it MAJES-TUOSO (Majestic) for it beautiful weather, fertile land, clean river abundant in shrimps and fish such as “pejerey”. As a result, today we have several attractions that will motivate you to learn even more about the mystery of the Incas.
