The site of Beringa is in the Majes Valley. This area is a Pre-Inca cemeteries of the Wari empire, which had its expansion into southern coastal of Peru during the Middle Horizon period. Several excavations and studies have been obtained in the Village of Beringa. Thus, one of the biggest studies was done by Dr. Tiffany Tung, an archaeologist who has examines these mummies and human skeletons from these archaeological contexts. There is also a museum nearby the lodge, in the town of Aplao, (20 minutes from our lodge) where you will be able to observe more relics.
