In the summer of 1987 Majes River Lodge was opened to the public by Julio Zúñiga Medina. The hotel offers a restaurant bar, white water rafting as well as touring services. The place is located in a farm, known as "Santa Ursula" where is Julio's property.   Julio was born in this marvelous valley where the majority of his ancestors came once from Spain who now maintains a combination of Spanish and indigenous traditions.

Our host Julio Zuñiga Medina will take you to a little know sacred sites known as "El Castillo", "Toro Muerto", "Tumbas de Beringa" ( Inca Tombs), ancient wineries and nearby towns such as "Chuquibamba" where you will walk across the dessert as Julio explains different plants and introduce you to the history and mysteries of this enchanting areas. As the sun sets over the valley, you can challenge your lungs by creating endless echoes off canyon walls as the sky colors dance.
